CRI and Color Temperature: A COB LED Strip Selection Guide
CRI and color temperature decide how a space feels. This guide explains Ra80, Ra90, Ra95 and Ra97 options and how to match color temperature to applications.
For interior lighting projects the quality of light matters as much as the quantity. Two parameters define that quality: CRI (Ra) and correlated color temperature.
Understanding CRI
Ra80 is standard for general lighting. Ra90 is recommended for retail, offices and residential projects. Ra95 and above are used for museums, high-end hospitality and showrooms.
Choosing Color Temperature
2700K to 3000K creates a warm atmosphere for hotels and homes, 3500K to 4000K is neutral for offices and retail, and 5000K to 6500K suits task lighting and signage. Tunable white COB strips adjust between 2700K and 6500K from one installation.
Why COB
COB strips place chips under a continuous phosphor layer, so the light line is dot-free even without a deep diffuser.
